Only In AMERICA

I just spent the last 4 days crisscrossing 4 states.
I love this country it is a beautiful place.
Each state is different, and each state seems to have its own unique characteristics.

We went up through Colorado.
Colorado is my state. I am always amazed at its diversity. The majestic Rocky Mountains
towering in the west, and the rolling plains stretching for miles in the opposite direction.
We traveled across Wyoming. Wyoming can be pretty flat, but where we traveled we saw
rolling green hills and rocky formations that seemed to grow as we got closer to South Dakota.
One formation actually looked like a castle from a Disney movie.
Sage loves Wyoming. He dreams of having his horse ranch there someday.

South Dakota has hills and jagged mountains.
We went to a Wild Horse Sanctuary in South Dakota that was back in the hills. There have been
several movies filmed in this location.
The horses were wild and running together. At one point the big brown stallion was herding his mares together while we watched in an old blue bus. It was like watching a scene from one of those movies.
That afternoon we drove into Nebraska and the hills slowly turned into the rolling plains.
The wheat is tall and brown this time of year.when the wind blows across it moves like the waves of the ocean.

Our ancestors must have been excited and overwhelmed at times as they moved West. I can only imagen how hard it must have been to travel without roads or civilization. Not to mention dealing withthe indians who were not happy at the arrival of these strange people.
More courage and stamina than I may possess. I wonder if I would have survived.

Us Americans have lots to be proud of. As I say Happy Birthday to America, I want to say thank you to the brave men and women ( my grandson included) who are serving our nation today in a time of war. My prayers are with you.

I believe that we are one nation built and established under God. His blessing and approval have made us a mighty nation. I came across a quote this week and I think it is something that we need to consider

"Without God there is no virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience....
without God there is a coarsening of the society; without God democracy will not and cannot endure.....
If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under."
