For example, I'm setting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt. "

Today Art and I went to see the movie Mama Mia. Can't say it was one of my
favorite movies, I had a hard time with the storyline , but I did enjoy the music. The best part was watching
Meryl Streep. She is not one of my favorite actresses, but she sings and dances pretty darn good and she is my age.
I recognize that having deformed feet (due to botched surgery), and arthritic knees is a good excuse for my moving so slow, but I'm not sure I ever could move that good.
Now its not my goal to dance up a storm, though Art might enjoy that, but
all I really want at this point is to keep the weight down, and the knees strong enough to be able to walk up the muddy hills in Vanuatu one more time in the next 5 years, and I don't care if it is with or without the old ladies in the village laughing and pointing at me because I need help getting up the hill.
Yep, they got a good laugh every time Erik helped me up the hill last time I was there:)
To keep it all in perspective I looked up some verses in the scripture on the aged.
Love this one: Job 12:12: "Wisdom is with aged men,
With long life is understanding"
Proverbs 16:31: " A gray head is a crown of glory;
It is found in the way of righteousness."
I will admit right now that there is quite a bit of gray hidden under all this color.
Proverbs 20:39: " The glory of young men is their strength,
(makes me think of Micheal Phelps)
and the honor of old men is their gray hair."
My BIG 60 is coming next year, and I may have to be reminded of the value of age over the next few months, but right now my prayer is from Psalm 71:17-18: " O God, You have taught me from my youth,And I still declare Your wondrous deeds. And even when I am Old and Gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come."

So True!!
Is it a far stretch to say we begin to feel old, in our society, at age 30. That's a shame because w/age comes wisdom. Not only in what you've accomplished but the mistakes you've learned from. There is a lot of value in your generation for mine.
Sometimes the only thing that does lift us up, is GOD's PERCPECTIVE.
~AMEN!!!
Love,

I just want to say that I think you look very young, are completely hip to what's going on and full of wisdom so what a great combination! :)
thanks for what you wrote on my blog about boys! You were one I thought of when I wrote it!
