We went to a high school musical last night. I have never seen a production quite like it in a high school setting. It was just like the Disney movie, the storyline, the music, and the costumes. No, I don't mean the Disney movie"High school Musical", but Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." I'm told that Disney keeps very close tabs on a production like this one, with someone from Disney coming to each performance to make sure that it is done to their high standards.
We went because Alex, Jon's girlfriend, was one of the cast members. She and everyone involved did a wonderful job. I really enjoyed it and so did Art even though it ran past his bedtime, but without work today he was able to sleep in. Another Perk of semi-retirement.
I reminded Jon that when he was a little boy he hated this movie. The beast scared him and after seeing it once he refused to ever watch it again. He liked it this time...Hmm...I wonder why...
We both woke up with the songs playing in our heads.
Again, the truth behind the story was not lost on me .
Belle was able to see past the beasts anger, hostility, and ugliness, to see his heart, so as she spent time with him, she grew to love him.
I am sure that Belles kindness, honesty, and willingness to give him a chance allowed the beast to find and express his true self and love to her.
How are you treating others, those you know and those you don't? Do you have eyes to see beyond and ears to hear more than what is right in front of you?
Just a thought.

Oh my goodness, you just preached our sunday school lesson from last week. Do we see others as an interference to our lives or an annoyance if they act like you described. Or do we see them "made in God's image"? And needing Jesus!
Loved your analogy. But it is also one of my favorite movies, the songs, the tiny bits of french, the library *sigh*...belle's dresses.
Stop me at anytime.
Love you,
