My Weekend...

I had the privilege to attend a Christian Writers Conference this last weekend. It was at the downtown Hyatt Regency Hotel in Denver, and hosted by Jerry Jenkins . He is the author of the Left Behind series that was so popular a few years back.
It was 4 days of teaching from authors like Max Lucado, Phillip Yancey, and Phil Fischer of Veggie tales fame.
We had daily classes and opportunities to meet with publishers and agents, and lots of good food. You know I love to eat.

I thought you might enjoy some of the tidbits that I gleaned from speakers and teachers.

One thing that each speaker emphasized was the idea that we all have our own voice. It is important to find our voice and not be afraid to express it.

Another thing expressed was that we all have a story inside of us. We were encouraged to get those stories down. Journal them ... Write a book... Make a tape... Write a blog.... somehow share your story with others.
I had a dear friend who had cancer. She was very ill and her biggest sorrow was that she would die and miss her daughters growing up. I encouraged her to write her thoughts and feelings down for her girls just in case she wasn't here to see them grow up then they would have her heart. She never did it. Not to long after this she died. Her youngest daughter was under two years. We each have a story within us that can encourage others.
We need to get it down.

Great writing changes lives...
Writing can change lives for generations

.Aristotle said:
1. Logos...something to say that is intelligent
2. Pathos...must have intensity, passion about what you are writing.
3. Ethos...write with integrity.

Start by knowing what your goal is even in blog writing...

Only thing greater than writing is being read. Max Lucado

Less is MORE....

You cannot out dream God!

I could go on and on, but I just wanted to give you a feel for my weekend.

I didn't find my voice. My voice found me.
