I-80 is busy this morning. Semi trucks and cars are in the mix competing to pass one another. Everyone is on a mission to get someplace including us, we are heading to Chicago.
We spent the night in Aveno, Iowa at a Motel 6, right off of the highway. I like traveling the interstates they are their own little world.
We are 450 miles from Chicago.
Yesterday we left Nebraska house heading East to Omaha Nebraska. Art has been reading the "Nebraska Magazine" and found an article describing the delicacy of fried carp in Omaha.
Yes, you read it right CARP.
The fish that my husband for the last 40 years has caught and thrown back or thrown on the shore for animals to eat. I can't say that I've ever heard him say anything nice about this fish.
To seal the desire to eat CARP he found a place on the Road Food Blog describing Joe Tess
a local hole in the wall, that's specialty is Carp. He was on a mission.
We arrived in Omaha right at dinner time.
With the help of an insane GPS, How many times can she say "turn around", so frustrating, and my willingness to ask someone we found Joe's fish place.
This is the kind of place you don't want to think about what the kitchen must look like. All that grease. They have been there since 1930, and everything they serve is fried and served with fried potatoes and cole slaw.
