I'm sad...
I can't believe how many miles we traveled over the last 3 weeks. It was over 2000 miles.
We had so much fun. I've always wanted Art to go East with me during the Fall.
We picked the perfect week. We are not used to the crimson red trees and they were spectacular on the road. We had a couple very windy days and the trees lost many leaves during the time we were there. The weather was good. Crisp cold mornings, warm days, and cool nights. We had only a couple rainy and cold days the whole two weeks.
It was fun seeing the kids in their own environment.
We went to a football game at Wheaton College
And Sierra and I had a grandma date.
I enjoyed watching Erik prepare for his Moody Class.
He was oohh, aahhing, and uuhing his last day there. He is teaching language sounds. I bet they love him he has some great true life stories to illustrate what he is teaching.
Went with Michele and met the other Missionaries that live in her complex. They shared stories and prayer requests about their lives and the countries they serve in. I loved it. Missionaries are such special people they look at life so different than we do here.
Chicago is a fun place....
Michele somehow manages to find the free spots or the free tickets..
Can you imagine we got into the downtown aquarium with free tickets.
Joel loves posing for pics as you can tell....
Ohio in the Fall is beautiful
And the girls are so cute....
The place for wood cooking stoves, and composting toilets. Art loved it.
We ate at the Hartville Kitchen....They make a sweet potato casserole to die for....I nearly cried the last day when I went to get my last potato fix and they hadn't cooked them yet. I begged and pleaded, but to no avail.
We went treasure hunting and found estate sales in both states.
We found a house in Chicago were the roof was falling down, and fruit was rotting in the basement, but I found some great old books there , and they have already sold.
We went to an Akron sale were there was one whole room dedicated to Hummells. There must have been 300 of them. I didn't buy one, but I found some other treasures.
Check out the Etsy store next week.
So we are home....
Time to put stuff away....
and get ready for Nebraska deer hunting. Seriously...its next weekend.
