THIS & THAT

THIS is officially our last day on the road we arrived home this morning.
We have been gone three weeks.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the things THAT we saw and did.

We visited the kids school and got to see some of their art work on  display.

John Mark's picture done with Photo Shop
                                                           Sierra's work

                                                      David's work

There is a Duncan Donuts on every corner in Chicago, best coffee ever:) Donuts are pretty good also.

I found two great knit shops in the Wheaton area.

It is possible to completely clean, pack or give away everything in a townhouse in one week. The day we left all we had left was a half loaf of bread, an orange, and a half a jar of peanut butter which we gave to the neighbor.

PORTILLO'S HOT DOGS, have some of the best and cheapest burgers in the Chicago area. Pretty good fries too.

It's nice to have my KIA back, Erik took good care of it. It's running like a champ.

Gas was down to $4.01 the day we left Chicago.

While we were away my Colorado grand kids got out of school.

I spent some time with other missionaries, they are a special group. (missionaries I mean)

Illinois and Indiana have great rest stops on the road. They have restaurants as well as toilets.

Illinois has Cardinals, and Scarlet Tanagers, I know because I saw both.

I got to see Sierra sing in a concert at school.

It's time to go back to Weight Watchers for sure. I just thought I'd throw that in to remind myself.

We crossed the Missouri River in Nebraska and it was full, full, full of water.

We experienced both 90 degree weather and 30 degree weather in the two weeks we were there.

Joel's favorite place to eat is McDonalds. He likes happy meals with chicken.

I found some great Christian books in Wheaton, and I sold 7 of them this week.

God stays close to the broken hearted. Psalm 34:18

I read the book, MIND GAMES and knit a little girls shrug while on the road. I'm almost done with the second shrug, it is for Baby Danielle.

Sierra has been running races this whole year, and she ran her last one the day before they left.
She came in first place
She finished at 6.2 time
Joel got his very own medal, and he was so proud of himself. He finished the whole race.

Garmin makes the best GPS, we never got lost, not even once while on the road.

John Marks favorite thing to do is read. He must have read 6 books while  we were there.

I missed my Colorado grand kids and Bentley (the dog), Art missed his kitties.
They were all glad to see us today.

The grass in Nebraska was knee deep when we arrived. It took us 2 days to get cut and weeds pulled.

I love summer clouds, and we saw some marvelous ones.

I went to a missionary dinner and got to eat food from France, Mexico, South America, Africa, and Korea. Michele made manioc and coconut milk with tuna...mmmm good indeed. No wonder I need to go back to WWatchers.

Mr. Kim was David's Ti Kwon do teacher.
He helped David get his orange belt.

We went to the Billy Graham Museum on the grounds of the Weaton College. It was so special. Worthy of its own blog post later.

Erik and Michele had a stressful two weeks, but in the end they got it done. I was absolutely amazed how they got all those bags packed, while deciding what to give away, throw away, or save. Hard to do...

Saying good bye is also hard to do....
I know that for sure:)
