TODAY I....

TODAY, I was woke up at 5 a.m. with a telephone call that I almost didn't answer because I thought I was dreaming.
The phone call at 5 a.m. was a recording from AA telling whoever answered that  Erik and Michele's airplane flight for LAX had been cancelled, but they had been moved to another flight 1/2 hour later.

TODAY, I walked with Sierra to College Church on the Wheaton College campus. We talked about our haircuts, nail polish, and how much we would miss one another.

TODAY, I walked home from church with Joel. We talked about Dandelions, the clouds in the sky, the long airplane trip he gets to take today, and he doesn't like red ants cause they bit him and made his back itch.

TODAY, A neighbor brought chicken legs, salad and baked grits over for our lunch. Those were the best grits I've ever had. I'll try and get the recipe and share it with you.

TODAY, Art and Erik loaded 8 check on bags and 8 carry on bags into our KIA for a trip to the airport. They have been packing for days. Seriously, at least16 bags, give or take a couple.

TODAY, I tried not to cry when missionary friends gathered around Erik and Michele as we prayed for their safe arrival in Vanuatu.

TODAY, I yelled at Art not to loose sight of the van we were following to the airport because we had no clue where we were going and ours was the car with all the luggage. We were a caravan of 3. Many came with us to the airport to send the missionaries off.

TODAY, I kissed and hugged E and M, and my grand kids goodbye as Sierra begged me not to cry so she wouldn't cry.

TODAY, I came home exhausted and took a nap, before cleaning the upstairs bathroom, while Art began to pack our car for the trip home tomorrow.

TONIGHT, I heard from Erik and they arrived safely in LA. They leave for Vanuatu around 11 p.m. Pacific time.

TONIGHT, the house is very very quiet even with the thunder and lightening outside, as I prepare to go to bed, one more night on the couch,  and hopefully get on the road early in the morning.
