I've been busy since we moved working on my online bookstore. I finally got through the 10+ boxes that I had packed.
I have some great books to get on, but it will take time.
I have a special one I will share here tomorrow.
My list for today has to do with BOOKS: TOP 10 LITERARY ONE-HIT WONDERS
10. BLACK BEAUTY BY ANN SEWELL, The author of this book had a fall which rendered her lame, as a result she had a great fondness for horses. She wrote this book later in life while confined to her home.
9. GONE WITH THE WIN BY MARGARET MITCHELL, Margaret Mitchell wrote this book while recovering from a broken ankle. She only wrote one other book, and it wasn't published till after her death.
8. THE DEVIL IN THE FLESH BY RAYMOND RADIGUET , Ramond Raiguet wrote this book using personal experiences.
7. WUTHERING HEIGHTS BY EMILY BRONTE, Emily Bronte wrote much poetry but only this one book. It is considered to be a classic in English literature.
6. IN SEARCH OF LOST TIME BY MARCEL PROUST, Marcel Proust is best known for this extremely long novel. over thirty two hundred pages, it was published posthumously.
5. THE BELL JAR BY SYLVIA PLATH, Sylvia Plath is one of the greatest female poets of the twentieth century. The Bell Jar, is semi-autobiographical and describes the life of a young woman with mental illness. One month after book was published the author commited suicide.
4. THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY BY OSCAR WILDE, Oscar Wilde is best known for his plays, but he also wrote poetry and one novel. The novel delves into the mind of a young man whose obsession with youth and beauty lead him into a life of horror.
3. TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD BY HARPER LEE, Harper Lee won a Pulitzer prize for this book.The book describes racism and tension in a small town in the South.
2. CATCHER IN THE RYE BY J. D. SALINGER, J.D. Salinger wrote only one novel. Salinger became reclusive.
1. DOCTOR ZHIVAGO BY BORIS PASTERNAK, Boris Pasternak was a famed Russian Nobel Prize winning poet. Doctor Zhivago is his best known book.

I reread TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD last year and really enjoyed it.
