Random thoughts on Christmas...

Only 10 days until Christmas....
Tis the season to be jolly...fa la la la la
I haven't been feeling real good so
I'm not feeling very fa la la or Jolly...
mostly just tired... thus far
I haven't baked any cookies...hopefully I
will get some done this week.
I'm not done shopping.. and barely started wrapping.
We put up a tree, and I love it. It is white with lots of
colorful lights...but that is all the decorations this year
except for my creche...

When I was a little girl I went to St. Rose of Lima
Catholic school...Christmas was the best time.
It was a time we celebrated Jesus birthday.
No one disputed that Christmas was about Jesus.
We sang Christmas carols ...I love carols...We sang
about Jesus.
We dressed up and went to church. Midnight mass
was my favorite.
Now a days we don't want to say Christmas is about
Jesus...Makes me sad.

Did you know that the first promise for the Messiah
was in garden?
Genesis 3:14-15
" The LORD God said to the serpent
And I will put enmity
between you and the woman
and between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head
and you shall bruise him on the heel."

Another promise for the coming Messiah in Isaiah 9:6,7
I Love this one!
"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
and the government will rest on His shoulders;
and His name will be called 'Wonderful counselor,
Mighty God,'
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or
of peace.
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it with justice
and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this."

I love Christmas.... I love that it is about Jesus....
