Some Scoop From the Farm at Christmas Time....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Yes I'm still around. I haven't felt much like writing. Kinda in a funk this month. I think with a divorce in the family and all that entangles, it is a bit hard to get used to a
"new kind of normal" and I have had to remind myself that JESUS is the reason for the season and put my focus there.

"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
and the government will rest on His shoulders;
and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor,
              Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His Government or
               of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to up hold it with justice
                and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this." Isaiah 9:6-7

Amen!!!!

Okay, now for some scoop...

FINALLY>>>>

A Christmas Blizzard
We badly needed the moisture and got around 6-7 inches.
We were on the road coming from McCook when snow started.
It was hard to see more than a few feet in front of us. It was when
Art tried to put the truck in 4 wheel drive that he found our 4 wheel
drive was GONE...
Bad place to find out that the reason the truck has been leaking was
the 4 wheel drive case.
That should cost a pretty penny:)

Silly Chickens
Don't like snow and aren't to smart?
We thought they would go into their nice warm insulated coop when
the storm hit but instead when we took out nice warm oatmeal to them
they were no where in sight.
We found them under the back porch, huddled together and scared to
come out.
Didn't know that space under the porch was big enough for a grown man, but Art
proved me wrong. One by one they had to be carried back to the coop.
They let me know they were not happy, but they enjoyed the oatmeal.

Christmas Baking
I did put some of my focus here.
I made some different kind of cookies this year, going along with
our "new kind of normal" No banana cookies or no bakes instead I
covered oreo's with white chocolate, and made little tiny lemon
cakes and German chocolate cookies.
Art made fruit cake. Those babies must weigh 5 lbs and took 2 hours
to cook, but they are so good that we decided to keep them for us.
They will be okay for the January diet because they are mostly fruit:)
We are to smart....

I'm Reading
Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly
Finally broke down and put it on my Kindle.
I've been hoping to find it cheap on Amazon, but I got tired of waiting.

I'm Knitting
Finger less gloves, and they are awesome. I will show you a pic soon.
I made Toby a snake scarf for Christmas. He will love it.

Art
Cut up and made deer bologna this week.
He used Jon's deer. Jon is happy and so are we.

He broke a tooth this week. He couldn't get into dentist til
January 2, praying he will not get infection or any bad thing like that.

He went to VA this week for hearing test. He gets new hearing aids
in February. He is so happy to hear the birds again, not to mention
being able to hear my lovely voice better:)
What a blessing those small devices can be.

He now has 3 indoor cats, and two outdoor cats. (meet the outdoor ones)
Believe me these animals love him.
I don't want to estimate how much he is spending on cat food a month.
I choose to ignore it, and He gives the outdoor ones warm milk every morning?
Really?

He still can hunt for the elusive deer one more week. Last night there were two in
the field!!! They had moved on by the time he got back up the stairs with his gun.
We are locked and loaded now all they have to do is come back.

He shoveled snow with his tractor and was loving it. Like a child with a new Christmas toy.

He is cooking a ham for Christmas, put new doors in the church this week, and continues to  be my biggest supporter even though he has caught my bad cold.
This is our 43 Christmas together.
Love my sweetie....

Chlo Bear
This is her first Christmas and she continues to be a bright spot in my life. She is my baby girl, and I love being around her. We are trying to teach her that just because Great Grandma is in the room doesn't mean she has to be held. It's not working.  She cries like she is going to die if I don't pick her up.

I'm happy to oblige...

Life at the Farm
Is good. We have been here a year now, and still I'm loving it. I'm involved in Bible Study, doing a Beth Moore study on Deuteronomy, and I go to TOPS once a week for weigh in, but  I love wearing my PJ's all day if I want toO, and cleaning out the chicken coop is an accomplishment I like doing each day. I love the peaceful quiet and beauty of this place.

                                                   sunrise ...see what I mean?

SO FROM THE FARM I WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY HOLIDAY.
